Arizona Credit Unions are the REAL Deal and provide REAL Solutions

Arizona Credit Unions are the REAL Deal and provide REAL Solutions

In preparation for CUNA's Annual Governmental Affairs Conference where REAL Deal credit unions were recognized for their community outreach efforts, Arizona's credit unions participated in a survey checklist in an effort to express their impact. REAL Deal credit unions are engaged in a variety of community outreach activities belonging to four pillars: REAL Programs, REAL Sources, REAL Community Help/Commitment, and REAL Partnerships.

Arizona's credit unions show an incredible amount of support for their respective communities, and as part of the cooperative network, the collective support statewide is quite impressive. According to the response from the REAL Deal checklist Arizona's credit unions have touched the lives of more than 19,000 individuals, volunteered more than 3,500 hours of service, and have supported their communities with more than $430,000 in monetary contributions and in-kind donations.

Hats Off to Your Success!

Use the Power of Aggregation in the Liquidation Process

Credit Unions have explored various ways to liquidate repossessed inventory: auction, retail, wholesaler, friends, family and strangers on the street. According to an October '09 CUNA Survey, only 7% of the 2,000 credit unions that participated, giving written responses, were satisfied with venue and returns. The survey also pointed out that while on average the auction is going to deliver better returns than other solutions; only 12% of participating credit unions use auctions as a sole resource. From the auction standpoint, most credit unions are unable to deliver a sufficient number of vehicles to sell that will give them the same attention as a manufacturer or rental agency.

Repo Remarketing To get preferred attention for credit unions, Repo Remarketing was founded, bringing their Credit Union clients together under one umbrella, employing the power of aggregation. By leveraging this strategy and aggregating the inventory of several Credit Unions under the Repo Remarketing umbrella, Credit Unions now have the key to a successful liquidation strategy.

AYIN History and Update

AYIN - Arizona Youth Involvement Network

The Arizona Youth Involvement Network (AYIN) began in 2006 with a group of young individuals who had an opportunity to join credit union leaders from around the world at consecutive World Council of Credit Union (WOCCU) Conferences. Each of these individuals received a YCUP Scholarship from the Arizona Credit Union League Foundation and found themselves inspired to start this initiative for young credit union leaders in Arizona. Today, the network has expanded and continues to grow in size and influence.

"My first few months on the AYIN Steering Committee have been exciting, motivating and fun! It's been awesome to work with such an accomplished group of young professionals. It's inspiring to be able to lead the young professionals of Arizona."

-Regina Carey
Newest Steering Committee Member, elected November, 2009
