But, if you're ever in a pinch for cash on the weekend or at night, getting an ATM card or debit card is a must! You can get an ATM or debit card to withdraw money from your savings and checking accounts.

Ask your Altier Credit Union representative for the variety of ATM locations where you can use your card. There are even national networks where you can get quick cash when traveling or away at school.

Be sure to ask whether the card issued is only for use in an ATM or whether it is a "debit" card. The debit card can be used in ATMs or in place of writing a check at any merchant who accepts VISA^®. Although it is used like a credit card, the amount of the transaction is taken right out of your checking account just like a check. But, remember to subtract the amount of the purchase from your check register.
